An introduction to autism (CPD accredited)

Date: 12th May 2014
Venue: Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Forty delegates enjoyed a hugely informative and engaging presentation by Lorraine MacAlister from the National Autistic Society.  Lorraine gave an overview of the autism spectrum, including the key characteristics within the triad of impairments and sensory differences.  She also covered the impact on the family, and gave some practical tips for communication.

Lorraine has worked for the National Autistic Society since 2005, and is now part of their training ad consultancy team, delivering training on autism to health and social care organisations, universities and voluntary groups.
