Child Development - with Juliette Francis

This webinar was recorded on 13th October 2015 and is aimed at health professionals working with children and their families.

What is Neuro-Typical? A focus on Child Development.

An appreciation of child development can help us to meet the needs of children, as well as understand what might happen if we don’t use this knowledge to its best advantage.  While responding to the many and varied challenges they experience, it can be easy to lose sight of neuro-typical development.   This seminar will explore the development stages and transitions experienced by young children as well as recent research concerning brain development.

Outcomes:

By the end of the session participants will have an understanding of:

child development theory, particularly cognitive, emotional and psychological development
attachment theory
the way in which the child’s brain develops and how brain development and brain chemistry is affected by close relationships
how parenting capacity, trauma and abuse impacts on  child development
